Research grant writers (Nih, nsf, dod, doe):
And what to do about it
The Summer of Specific Aims was put together by my team and I specifically to help you to bridge the Implementation Gap, in order to get more writing, thinking, and clarity work done this summer, without the need for hard work.
Through the accountability and feedback structure, we'll help you stay on track to your goals, with just a few hours of writing work per week. By doing your part, you'll have an NIH Specific Aims page (or Project Summary Page) draft by mid August that's ready for the next steps.
This positions you perfectly for Fall grant deadlines, such as the NIH R01 deadline on October 5, 2021. You'll have a great head start in your writing and clarity, so that you're not struggling to put something compelling together just as the Fall busy season starts.
We do this through key supports:
By giving yourself the gift of an accountability and feedback structure for work on your proposal this summer, you take away much of the procrastination, avoidance, and "I'm too busy" that creates the Implementation Gap. Moreover, you give yourself a support structure, solving one of the major underlying causes of the Gap.
While we can't guarantee you'll have a "perfect" proposal by August (nobody can), we can guarantee that if you join us and do the work each week, you'll be a lot closer to having a great proposal for the Fall.
We look forward to seeing you!

The Easiest Grant I Have Ever Written!
“...it is totally true that my last R01 was the easiest grant I have ever written and it was fun. Clarity changed the grant from work to flow. It took me 3 months to lock in the specific aims but then The grant just kind of flowed out of me so easily. I actually enjoyed it!”
-- Lisann Gittner, Researcher
