Hi – a common problem. People put labels on themselves, and then fail to see that they can learn stuff from other disciplines.
But – I’ve used this stuff to get a grant/loan from the Town of Carrboro to open a bike shop, and to get a grant for plastics recycling back in the mid-90′s. It’s not only for science.
Soon, I’ll be doing some stuff that goes beyond the science focus.

I stumbled onto your website, etc. I am absolutely delighted. The webinar was every so helpful. My background is technical/scientific writing. (I’m a Fellow in the Society for Technical Communication.) I am currently helping a wonderful small nonprofit Vietnamese-American nonprofit that is doing wonderful work. Thank in advance for this report; I also appreciate your blog, and will be subscribing. I have a friend who is completing his PhD in PolySci, do you think htis information will help him? I am trying to get him to look at your site, but he can’t get past the ‘its all about science’ label. Ande he’s the one who taught me stats!

we may as well end up writing much better papers, not just grants – the basic principles I am now reading that you present so clearly are quite broadly applicable to any reporting of science to anyone else…
